Staff Recommendation
APPROVE the Major Collector Street Major Road Plan designation for Loves Creek Rd through its entire length.
This street is built to a major collector facility standard and collects traffic from Ashville Hwy. a major arterial street, through Rutledge Pike, a minor arterial street and Millertown Pike, a major arterial street. Including the Loves Creek street section north of Millertown Pike with the rest of the Loves Creek major collector street category will acknowledge its function as the sole collector street of commercial traffic north of Millertown Pike , east of the rail road. This new street designation will allow a mini-storage facility to be built in the C-6 zoned portion of property in that area. Loves Creek Road north of Millertown Pike is currently shown on the Major Road Plan as a "future major collector " with an eventual connection to an extended Murphy Road from Washington Pike.
