I support this request for rezoning and appreciate the opportunity to show support of making justified exceptions to a blanket zoning that simply doesn't always conform to actual use. I have been a resident and owner of a townhouse adjacent to this property since 1993. Our neighborhood is primarily residential with just the historic Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles as non-residential properties. Nearby good neighbors also include the Lincoln Memorial University Law School and the Crowne Plaza hotel. Downtown Knoxville is not simply a shopping and entertainment district. Our LONGTIME residential areas contribute to the beauty and unique cultural experience that makes Downtown Knoxville so unique and special. We don't need shops and restaurants on every corner. This particular neighborhood of downtown should be protected and preserved with development curated to its unique nature. View Attachment
