Smart Trips Program Expands Outreach Efforts with New Coordinator
Smart Trips, the commuter awareness program housed within MPC, welcomed Sara Martin to its staff in February. In her capacity as Outreach Coordinator, Sara will promote the Smart Trips message throughout Knoxville and surrounding counties.
A native of Chattanooga, Sara moved to Knoxville in 2000 to attend the University of Tennessee. After earning a Bachelor of Architecture, she worked in that industry for nine years serving design and marketing roles. Her professional experience included opportunities to meet with a variety of companies, schools, non-profits, universities, and local industries. This wide-ranging background will serve her well in the new position.
Sara most looks forward to increasing the transportation options we enjoy in Knoxville. "I've been fortunate to do a lot of traveling," she explains. "The cities I most enjoy offer lots of ways to see the sights. I once made it to a beachside campground in Germany by way of train and public bus. It is so great to have choices." Of all the places Sara has visited, Knoxville is her favorite. "I plan to live here my whole life. Knoxville is a great city and I want to help make it even better. I like living in a town where you don't have to jump in a car every time you want to run an errand or grab lunch." The Smart Trips programis a perfect match for Sara to make her contribution. Good luck, Sara, and welcome aboard!Posted 3-21-2012, written by MPC Staff
