MPC Welcomes New Commissioners
MPC welcomed two new planning commissioners at its November meeting: Elizabeth Eason and Conrad "Mac" Goodwin.
Both Eason and Goodwin were appointed by City of Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and will serve terms from 2013 through 2017.
Eason is the principal architect at Elizabeth Eason Architecture. Her work experience includes commercial, retail, hospitality, residential, and government projects with a focus on efficiency, sustainable design, and healthy communities. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects, U.S. Green Building Council, and Knox Heritage and has served on the Knoxville Tree Board, the Board of Environmental Appeals, Knoxville Energy and Sustainability Task Force, and the Tennessee Energy Policy Task Force. As a planning commissioner, her goal is to see Knoxville and Knox County prosper through economical, equitable, and sustainable growth.
Goodwin is an author and retired archaeologist, who is active in many civic groups. He is the current president of Town Hall East, serves on the board of Circle Modern Dance, is a member in the Association of American Geographers, and consults for the Labor Day Sunflower Project. Among his many accomplishments is an Archaeological Resources Management manual written for Wilmington, Delaware. His interests as a commissioner are smart growth, livable city, and climate change issues.
As they welcomed the new arrivals, MPC also sent a hearty "thank you" to outgoing commissioners Nate Kelly and George Ewart, whose service to the community is truly appreciated!
