Reynolds Earns AICP Designation

Mike Reynolds, a planner in MPC's Comprehensive Planning Division, was accepted as a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) in November 2013.

He earned the distinction based on his years of planning experience and his success in passing the AICP exam.

Before joining MPC, Reynolds earned degrees in finance and city planning from the University of Tennessee in 2004. While still a student, he was a key player in the development of the Oakwood-Lincoln Park Neighborhood Plan that was adopted in 2005. After graduating he went to work in the Loudon County Planning Office and was responsible for zoning, subdivision, and historic preservation cases.

"MPC is fortunate to have Mike on board," said Comprehensive Planning Manager, Mike Carberry. "In addition to leading efforts on sector and small area plans, he administers the work of the Downtown Design Review Board. And his graphic skills have been instrumental in promoting concepts for new mixed development along Central Street and Magnolia Avenue."

Reynolds joins a number of MPC colleagues who also are members of the AICP: Jeff Archer, Bryan Berry, Tom Brechko, Mike Brusseau, Mike Carberry, Kaye Graybeal, Buz Johnson, and Jeff Welch.

Congratulations, Mike, and keep up the good work!
