Multi-Talented Web Developer and Graphic Designer Joins Planning Staff
Meet Planning's newest Renaissance man – designer, web guru, preservationist, world traveler, and new dad!
Josh Anderson joined Planning staff a couple of weeks ago as webmaster and graphic designer. He came to us from Ruby Tuesday HQ, where he did similar work for a few years. Prior to Ruby Tuesday, Josh lent his talents to an upstart marketing firm in Bearden.
Josh is a Knox area native. “I was born in Maryville - at home, during an ice storm – a midwife had to be called, and she came by tow truck to help bring me into the world,” reflects Josh. Being born at home has inspired him to stay close to home – raised in Karns, educated at Maryville College, and continues to work in the area. While home ties keep him local, Josh has enjoyed some world travel. During his college years, he lived in South Africa, briefly sharing a home with Nelson Mandela!
Josh majored in Writing Communications at Maryville College and expanded his communications skillset with design and web training from Pellissippi State Community College. At Planning, he will help us grow our public outreach effort, working first on updating some of the agency’s websites, and lending his artistic talents to graphics products. He brings strong abilities in helping us figure out what our outreach needs are and what steps should be taken to meet those needs.
And he’s no stranger to Planning. Before coming to work for us, he consulted our historic preservation planner this spring to guide him through the process of renovating his Craftsman home on Oklahoma Avenue. Josh and his wife recently moved into their work-in-progress, and shortly they will be adding their first child to their family.
Welcome to Planning, Josh!
