Knoxville's first Open Streets was a hit!
Inaugural Open Streets event draws thousands to Central Street leaving Knoxvillians wanting more.
Thousands of people strolled, wheeled, or danced their way up and down a mile of Central Street on Sunday, October 25th. Bike Walk Knoxville's Open Streets event drew crowds to activities like the Mini Ninja obstacle course on Emory Place, the bubble garden at the Central Collective, and Greg Carney's zombie-filled performance of Thriller.
There were aerial performances behind The Original Freezo (where people lined up across the street for ice cream), and Mayor Madeline Rogero learned a new dance exercise called Nia. Folks also could try CrossFit, which had them turning tractor tires over in the street.
There was something for everyone, and smiles all around!
