MPC Welcomes Tina Piatt As Susan Taylor Retires

Susan Taylor waved goodbye for the last time as she closed the door on 16 years at MPC to enjoy her well-earned retirement.

Susan moved to East Tennessee from New York and started at MPC as an Administrative Assistant in Human Resources. Like the office and those around her, her position changed a few times over the years, and she ended her time here as the Finance Assistant.

Thinking back on her first day, Susan recalled how there were a handful of people taking bets on how long she would make it. Little did they know that she would outlast most of them, and become a favorite among her coworkers for being one of the kindest, most helpful people in the office. Though we’ll miss her, we are excited for Susan’s next adventure! She is starting retirement off on the right foot, enjoying a cruise in the Bahamas with her husband before settling in to their new home in Tellico Village. She is looking forward to having more time with her grandchildren, cruising on her boat, putting in a new garden, and enjoying her new community.

Though she may have preferred to daydream about her upcoming freedom during her last couple of weeks, we are grateful that Susan was able to spend that time training her replacement, Tina Piatt.

Tina comes to MPC from the East Tennessee Development District, where she was the Administrative Assistant to the Fiscal Officer.

We’re excited to have Tina on board and can’t think of a better person to fill Susan’s shoes. After spending the last 15 years working for Coulter & Justus, various other CPAs, and taking on freelance work, Tina brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. Her friendliness and cheerful disposition don’t hurt either! When she’s not poring over financial documents or scrutinizing spreadsheets, Tina enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband live in Halls and love being outdoors, especially when they’re playing on their local co-ed soccer team. They have one son, Nicholas, who is in school at Pellissippi State Community College, and a cat, Stash, who is more of a second child than pet. Welcome, Tina!
