One Year Plan Meeting Summary: South Knoxville

MPC planners met with residents from South Knoxville to talk about upcoming changes to the One Year Plan, a tool that helps city officials make decisions about zoning and land use.

The meeting, held Monday, February 12, took place at Flenniken Landing and was broadcast live. The recording can be seen below, courtesy of Community Television.

MPC staff presented proposed plan changes to an audience of 26 people, then opened the floor to community input. Attendees were interested in:

  • How to proceed with a general rezoning,
  • How Recode Knoxville will address the One Year Plan, and
  • The zoning of their property and what those codes allow.

Open meetings to talk about One Year Plan updates are a great way to get involved in planning for your neighborhood. You can help guide future growth in your area, learn about the planning process, and meet local decision-makers!

There is one additional meeting scheduled for this year’s One Year Plan update on February 15 for North, East, and Central areas. Meeting locations and times, as well as updates on the process, can be found at knoxmpc.org/one-year-plan.
