Kelli Byard Joins Planning Staff

Kelli Byard joined Knoxville-Knox County Planning as a graphic designer in January.

She is a Knoxville native, and was in the first freshman class of Hardin Valley Academy. After graduating high school, she moved to Johnson City, TN to attend East Tennessee State University. There she earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communications, and minored in special education, graduating in 2016.

Kelli then returned home to Knoxville, landing a job at Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union. She worked there as a creative content specialist for three years before joining our staff. Kelli’s background makes her a natural fit with Planning.

Though she’s only been here for about a month, she is already working on updating and creating several print publications for the agency and is applying our new brand to plans, reports, and other materials.

Kelli’s creativity and love for design is also apparent in her personal life. When she isn’t at work, you can often find her working on crafts, vinyl projects, and watercolors and lettering – both digitally and by hand. And when she’s in need of a break from those projects, she can be found enjoying downtime with her husband Grayson and cheering on the Vols. They live in West Hills and share their home with their dog Willa.
