Groundbreakers Web Application Now Available

There’s no shortage of construction activity underway in Knox County right now. Apartments, commercial buildings, retail spaces, and other projects continue to pop up.

To make information about these projects readily available, Knoxville-Knox County Planning has launched a new web application, called Groundbreakers, that provides a mapped inventory of major developments throughout the county. The app shows projects that are planned for the near future, currently under construction, or recently completed. Detailed information about type, size, location, timeline, costs, and news coverage is available for each of the nearly 150 listings included in the app. In addition to finding information specifically about individual projects, filters and searches can be applied to show groupings that meet certain criteria, such as type, developer, status, and more. All data within the app can also be exported.
