2020 Facts & Figures Report Available
A low cost-of-living, variety of arts and cultural attractions, and variety of commerce and industry contribute to making Knoxville an attractive place to live, raise a family, and own a business.
Last year, Knoxville was ranked the 14th least expensive city by Yahoo Finance, and it consistently receives national recognition for world-class amenities, like urban outdoors and cycling friendliness.
Those amenities include the new Baker Creek Bike Park that serves as an entrance to the 1,000-acre Urban Wilderness, 198 miles of greenways and trails, and 6,331 acres of parks.
The area is also well-known for being the home of the University of Tennessee’s flagship campus, which was ranked 44th among the nation’s top public schools in 2020 by U.S. News and World Report.
