Planning Welcomes Jessica Kitts
We are happy to announce that Jessica Kitts recently joined our staff as an administrative assistant!
Jessica came to our office with a familiarity of planning and the public sector from her previous job at TDOT where she worked in the Right of Way Division and administration. While there, she focused on deed drafting, title research, plan review, and more.
Jessica’s familiarity with planning and her administrative background, gained from TDOT as well as 18 years spent in the medical field, allowed her to jump right in to her role with our agency. She is quickly becoming be a familiar face at our front counter and regular monthly meetings as she provides administrative support to our staff, the Planning Commission, and other boards and committees managed by the agency.
In addition to acclimating to a new job, Jessica is also taking classes at Pellissippi State Community College to earn a degree in business administration with an emphasis in project management. She expects to graduate next summer.
Outside of work and school you will most likely find Jessica spending time with her son and husband at their home. Though she was born and raised in the Strawberry Plains area of Knox County, she has spent the past 15 years in Union County. Surrounded by her husband’s immediate family, they jointly run a 145-acre farm where they raise beef cattle, maintain hay fields, and grow large gardens.
Despite her busy schedule, she still manages to find time for family, gardening, canning, and helping her son with his recently acquired flock of chickens.
