Planning Welcomes Missy Jones

You may have noticed a friendly new face at our front counter recently. Missy Jones joined us this summer and has quickly been getting up to speed on all things planning.

Prior to taking this position, Missy worked for the Tennessee Department of Transportation where she focused on contracts. Before that, she worked for Knoxville Utilities Board doing administrative work in the communications department. This experience set her up well for a smooth transition into our agency as a planning technician. In her new role she is focused on customer service, processing applications, and providing support to staff. When asked what attracted her to the job, Missy said she was drawn to it because she loves being downtown and is excited to be in a role where she has the opportunity to learn and grow professionally.

Outside of the office, you will probably find Missy spending time with her family in Union County where she was born and raised. She lives there still with her son who is studying civil engineering at Pellissippi State Community College, and they live directly next door to her parents.

The family is close, and you can often find them spending time together around a firepit or enjoying live bluegrass music.
