Josh Bokor joins agency as graphic designer

Newest to the office, Josh Bokor came on as our Graphic Designer at the beginning of July.

Josh grew up in Canton, Georgia before his family moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The move from the Southeast to the Upper Midwest was a culture shock for Josh, but he appreciates that he was able to live in vastly different places while growing up.

His interest in art took hold when he was in high school, which led him to pursue design at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Though the design program alone would have been reason to attend the university, Josh also enjoyed staying close to home. In 2019, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design.

After graduating, Josh spent a few years working as a graphic designer for the University of Wisconsin-Superior and then the University of Tennessee here in Knoxville. Josh had lived in Knoxville for a bit when he found the position with our agency and was drawn to the opportunity to gain experience outside of higher education. He was also excited by the opportunity to learn about the urban planning process.

Josh entered the office during a busy time for graphic design projects, and though he has not been with the agency very long, he has already completed updates to some of our annual publications. While working on these projects, he has enjoyed getting to work with and learn from other staff who are experts in their field. He explains that he didn’t realize just how complicated the process was until he stepped inside and appreciates the opportunity to learn from others as he settles into his role.

When he is not in the office, Josh might be spotted running, reading, or poring over his beloved Peanuts comics. As a dedicated music blogger, Josh also makes time to see live shows at downtown venues whenever he can. Some of his other favorite spots in Knoxville include Remedy Coffee Shop and A Dopo Pizza.
