Annual Report Available

This spring, our agency celebrated its 70th anniversary.

As we reflect on the work completed during that time, we are reminded that our community is at the core of all we do. This is evident in everything from the various logos we have used over the past several decades to the focus of our work over the past year.

That focus is especially apparent in the once-in-a-generation, long-range planning processes our staff is currently undertaking. Knox County is working to create a unified development ordinance through the final stage of Advance Knox, and the City of Knoxville has embarked on an update to its comprehensive plan through a process dubbed What’s Next Knoxville? Both projects have included extensive public engagement to ensure everyone is invited to help shape the future of our communities and we encourage everyone to stay informed and involved through the remainder of this year as they continue.

Additionally, the Annual Report highlights other projects completed in collaboration with local and regional partners, along with day-to-day work, and the Boards and Commissions our staff support.

For more information on these projects and other work our staff has completed in the past year, see the full report.
