UDO Virtual Meeting Scheduled
Knox County is continuing work on the creation of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), a document that will include zoning, street standards, subdivision regulations, stormwater regulations, and fire and building codes. Over the last few months, the project team has been sharing regular updates and providing opportunities to give feedback.
The next opportunity to learn more and provide input will be a virtual public meeting on Wednesday, July 29th at 10:00 am. Those interested should register in advance.
At the meeting, the project team will share:
- Updates to Articles 4-7:
- Residential, commercial and mixed-use, industrial, and agricultural and open space dimensional standards
- Module D Articles:
- Parking, landscaping, signs, open space, infrastructure, and stormwater regulations
- Draft 2 Zoning Map:
- Interactive map with side-by-side comparisons and a comment feature
- If a property is rezoned through this process, it will not affect the current use of the property – the new zoning would only affect future development on that property
Following the meeting, the recording and all materials will be shared online with the opportunity to provide feedback through August 12, 2026. For more information and to subscribe to the newsletter, visit AdvanceKnox.org/udo.
