With this rezoning, I am concerned about the safety and infrastructure around the schools in the area as well as congestion At the intersection of sharp and Emory. This intersection is dangerous as it is, but adding more homes and more congestion can seriously, damaged the area and disturb the residences who are already there. I believe this rezoning would affect the Powell area in a negative way.

I am against the proposed rezoning of sharp/granville. Knox county needs to do a significantly better job of PLANNING. Our schools cannot handle further influx of children. Our environment is suffering due to the displacement of wildlife. Our residents are suffering due to the lack of infrastructure improvements to coincide with this growth. We need our representatives to care for their constituents more.

As a student at the University of Tennessee, living in Powell is a stroke of good luck. I’m sorry to say this, because I know a lot of people who have a different experience, but I love my commute. It’s an easy 16 minute drive to park in the garage at Neyland from my driveway on Lula Bell drive here in Ponderosa subdivision off Sharp rd. Believe it or not, I actually enjoy the drive to class in the mornings and usually avoid traffic with good timing in the afternoons. I am writing you because you have the power to vote no on rezoning the land at the bottom of sharp road in Powell, TN. You might know it because it’s already a weird intersection and it’s known for flooding pretty bad anytime it rains much. I have read through dozens and dozens of comments by the people that live on this road and its offshoots. No one wants this rezoned. Check the “I love Powell” group on Facebook. It’s a bad idea. Go look for yourselves. This area is still quite rural and we would like to keep it that way. Thank you for your time.
