I am a lifelong West Hills resident who vehemently opposes the new construction off Stockton Drive. I grew up off Corteland Drive, and currently live with my husband and three children on the Wesley side of the neighborhood. Over the last several years, residents have worked tirelessly to make West Hills a safer place to live through the development of sidewalks and speed bumps. The city of Knoxville has attested to to these needs, and the attention to safety and neighborhood cohesiveness is a huge draw for my family and so many others. This development will undo much of the work done with its increased traffic from residents and visitors. Additionally, West Hills is an important part of Knoxville’s history and should be treated as such. As someone who has been a part of this neighborhood since 1989, and plans to keep their family in West Hills for many years to come, I strongly urge you to not allow this development to occur at this location.
