The traffic on Emery Rd in the morning and evening is horrendous! I sometimes have to sit at the entrance to Bent Creek waiting for cars as far as I can see. We do not need more development! Every day there are sirens or muffler noise, or trucks, or other road noise, where Karns used to be bucolic and quiet. I've lived here for over 30 years, and Karns has become a noisy, congested, undesirable area. Developers come in, buy up all the free land, make money on their houses, leave the area, and residents are left to deal with traffic and congestion. Where Emory Rd used to be free-flowing traffic, someone is now installing a traffic light. Smithbuilt is building many houses very close together in what once was pastureland near Clinton Hwy and Emory Rd. Those of us nearer Byington-Solway/Emory will not be able to pull out of our subdivision once all the houses are built and sold. It takes too long now, and you take your life in your hands when you finally do pull out. Add to that all the cars from the housing being built near Clinton Hwy, and every morning will be a nightmare. Once you get onto Emory, the traffic backs for miles at the stop light at Oak Ridge Hwy and Emory Valley. I can't wait to see how far traffic backs with the stop light at Byington-Solway and Emory! We do not need more development in Karns!

It would be an egregious act to continue these large developments in Knox county. The infrastructure cannot withstand much more growth at this level, much like in Hardin Valley. Roads are crowded and most two lanes. Schools are at full capacity with a teacher shortage already. Please stop this and other development until these issues are fixed.
