While it is great to see sidewalks along Loves Creek Rd throughout this development, it isn't ideal that the parking for this project has been placed at the front of the property, with the multifamily buildings set back. It would be great to see the parking and multifamily switch places so that the actual buildings front the street and new sidewalks similar to how the new Jewel apartments on Washington Pike do. This would not only improve access/walkability to the project/units and follow better urban design principles, but also make this road feel narrower than it is because the buildings would be closer to vehicles passing by, helping naturally slow traffic. In this vein, it would also be great to see some sort of marked crossing with flashing lights where the sidewalks end on both the Buffet Mill and Loves Creek side so that people can cross the street more safely. Even though there aren't any connections the crossings would lead to, it would at least help facilitate a safer crossing for those who do walk along the shoulders of these roads. Please consider these changes as conditions to approval if the site allows. Thanks!

Please consider a pedestrian connection to the adjacent Carter Community Pool, either through an extension of the sidewalk along Carter Mill Dr. or via a new pedestrian pathway somewhere between lots 437-443 that runs into the back side of the parking area of the pool, as a condition of approval. A host of excellent and expansive pedestrian improvements/connections have been made throughout the Carter community within the past few years, so this opportunity should not be overlooked. Thanks!

I am in support of approving this Use on Review! This area is sorely lacking in parks/public amenities/sports facilities, and this would be a step in the right direction to remedy that. If a pedestrian connection is possible to the Casa Bella neighborhood via the KUB pump station lot located within the neighborhood at 4629 Bella Capri Ln, then that should be explored/encouraged. Considering there are, at minimum, three large new neighborhoods/neighborhood expansions being constructed within a few miles of this proposal, the need for this new amenity, which is a vital asset in strengthening growing communities, is more important than ever! Thank you all for considering this in your decision.
