I was so excited to learn about the development of a 55+ community in downtown Knoxville. I respectfully request that the planning commission support this development.

This would allow my senior father the opportunity to downsize while remaining in the vibrant area he loves. He is a retired UT professor, and has invested and lived in downtown Knoxville for 40+ years. There are many like him who have invested in and live in the 4th and Gill and Park Ridge areas, and need to transition.

Regarding comments about increased traffic----this isn't student or young adult housing. Seniors are much less likely to drive. Professionally managed communities typically provide transportation via shuttles / small buses.

Will you please address the added traffic pressure on Gleason! The road is already busy and the City/County need to do THEIR part to develop THEIR roads to support developers. Adding to the width of the road and adding a turning lane to my subdivision would be a huge help! We like the development, but the roads surrounding our area need to be develped too!

I live across the street, and there are already times of day that it is quite difficult to turn left onto Gleason. If at all possible, some turn lanes need to be added on Gleason, which is becoming a nightmare due to poor planning over time. Turn lanes would at least keep traffic from backing up. That being said, I have no problem with the proposed new houses. Just please be careful where you put their access to Gleason Rd. Putting the entrance to the new subdivision right across the street from where Ashton Ct resident turn onto Gleason would be making an already bad situation worse. People fly down Gleason in both directions, and denser units will lead to more car accidents if ways aren't found to create more traffic gaps on the road.

I live in Briarglen subdivision, which will back up to this proposed development. The creek that runs between my property and the proposed development has widened and deepened since I have lived here due to out of control development. This new development will only increase the amount of runoff into the creek, which will result in more erosion. What does the developer plan to do to minimize the effects on neighboring properties?

I am in support of the development of the Shriner Site! South Knoxville and Downtown need a 55+ active adult community.
It also needs more year round residents to support retailers
