100% against this. We do not want to live next to 18 houses crammed on a small lot. How is 5 units per acre considered "low density" residential? Five feet between units? This is not the area for that. There are already a dozen neighborhoods up and down ball camp pike and ball road. I do not have the words for how infuriating this is. I have a strong suspicion that my opinion and that of my neighbors is fully inconsequential in this matter, but I cannot just sit silently and not speak up while you allow the area where my family has lived since the 40's be ruined.

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and expecting a different outcome. That is what is going on with this rezoning request. Its entrance is at the new exit from Schaad Road to Ball Camp Pike. The result will be accidents aplenty as people try to figure out the new traffic pattern and subdivision residents try to enter the flow of traffic in the most dangerous place possible.

The new Schaad Road is not the answer to Knox Country terrible infrastructure. Within one mile of my house, no fewer than 6 such review requests are now posted. This must stop. New developments will pour more cars on narrow roads and congest the area as drivers try to enter the new "save all" road.

I’ve lived in the Ball Camp area all my life. For the first time, a deer ran across my back yard. Wildlife has no place to go with so much development eating up their feeding grounds.

I ask you to allow the people to win one for a change. Let the developers figure out a better way to handle their projects without endangering motorists who drive on the narrow roads of Knox County.

I was unaware of the requirement to submit matters the day prior but hope my views will be shared. My family has been rooted in the Solway community for generations. And the community has changed drastically. Yet our street remains, for the most part, a respite from the hustle and bustle of life in West Knoxville. We live on property that has been in family for almost 100 years. We have solitude in bring surrounded by trees, enjoy wildlife such as deer, hawks, owls, and wild turkeys. But more housing development threatens that lifestyle and honestly will only further aggravate already unbearable issues. Traffic is a nightmare as there are no red lights in the community, the 45 mph speed limit is totally ignored and we find it routinely takes us 10-15 minutes to cross traffic to go into Knoxville. Our street is narrow and two vehicles have difficulty sharing the road unless one is willing to back up or find a ditch. Adding more housing behind a bust convenience store is a poor idea. It will only increase traffic delays and accidents in an area where traffic volume is high from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. We plan to attend the meeting on 8/11/22 and respectfully ask that we be permitted to speak. I am a native of the Solway community and my husband chose to live here following a career of more than 30 years as a Marine Corps Officer. I believe these two factors alone should entitle us to an opportunity to express our views at this meeting.
