Recommendation
APPROVE Certificate No. 122408CON.  Proposed design is compatible with structures found in Concord, and consistent with adopted design guidelines.  Existing house, while over 50 years, is drastically altered , with no architectural significance.
Applicant Request
    • The proposed new structure is a two story building with an end gable roof, end chimney, two story front porch under a shed roof, and a front facing garage.  Replacement structure:  Two story five bay frame with lap siding.  Two story full front porch under shed roof with square columns, sawn wood rail on second story.  Two over two windows.  Standing seam metal roof.  Brick end chimney.  Rear ell with attached garage, with garage doors facing rear yard, two story rear porch and one story bay window.
    • Demolish existing building described as an altered Folk Victorian that has been drastically changed over time.  Current building has an offcenter, extended front gable roof, a covered stoop offcenter on the front façade with a hip roof and square posts, artificial siding.

    • Style: Modified Folk Victorian (c.1887, original date; c. 1965 modifications)
    • One story frame with aluminum siding.  Front gable off center asphalt shingle roof with metal louvers in front end gable.  Six over six replacement windows.  Brick foundation.  One story one bay front stoop with hipped roof, chamfered columns.  Two interior offset brick chimneys.  Rectangular plan.
    • Replacement structure:  Two story five bay frame with lap siding.  Two story full front porch under shed roof with square columns, sawn wood rail on second story.  Two over two windows.
