Level I: SignBrick masonry commercial building with a three-bay storefront.
- New illuminated sign. Rectangular sign measures 4' wide by 2'-2" tall (8.67 sq. ft.), featuring a black aluminum sign cabinet with white letters. Internal illumination is limited to white letters. Sign is centered over central bay and will project out from center signboard area; the bottom of the sign will be 14' above the sidewalk level.
Property Notes / Work to be Completed
- 111 E. Jackson Avenue is within the Southern Terminal and Warehouse Historic District, so the Historic Resources section of the design guidelines applies. The proposed projecting sign meets the design guidelines as it measures below 9 square feet. While internally illuminated signs are discouraged within the guidelines, internal illumination has been approved when it is limited to push through letters and logos instead of the entire sign background. The sign will project out from the signboard area, at a height slightly above the other two projecting signs on the building; however, the center bay of the building is open with a metal gate, so the sign could not be located at the same height of the others.
