Staff approved a Certificate of Appropriates for a sign permit on January 2nd, 2026.
This is a request to add two yards signs for Decks & Docks Storage. The previously approved double-sided sign was not installed (10-A-24-TOS).
1) Decks and Docks Storage has two buildings on site for operations. Per Design Guideline 4.1.1, one yard sign is allowed per building for non-residential developments. The applicant has proposed two yard signs on either side of the driveway entrance, as shown on the approved site plan. This has been permitted to allow for adequate wayfinding signage without placing the signs closer than 20 feet to the right-of-way or exceeding the maximum allowable height of 6 feet.
2) The proposed yard signs are single-sided aluminum panels with matte finishes framed by aluminum posts painted white.
3) The proposed sign will have four colors: white, yellow, light blue, and navy. Per TTCDA Design Guideline 4.1.6, the number of sign colors may exceed three, where it is desirable to preserve corporate image. Because the four colors are the business logo and therefore integral to the business' image, and the color combination is non-offensive, the four colors comply with the guidelines.
4) The total square footage for each sign panel is 24.33 sq ft, which is within the allowable square footage allowed based on the linear frontage of the buildings.
