Reason for Change

?A portion of Willow Avenue was closed between Patton and Florida Streets, which caused the eastern and western portions of this right-of-way to be disconnected. Having non-contiguous road segments with the same street name is a safety concern for the Knox County Emergency Communications District. Willow Avenue between Florida Street and Jessamine Street was selected for the proposed renaming as the least number of tenants would be affected by a street name change. The name "Jessamine Street" was selected as this is a natural extension of the existing right-of-way.
