Staff Recommendation

Approve the name change of Lobetti Road to Lobetti Ridge Lane as requested by the Knox County Emergency Communications District.

1. The Knox County Emergency Communications District (E-911) has proposed changing the street name for the section of Lobetti Road south of Schaad Road to Lobetti Ridge Lane to increase safety and awareness following the removal of a segment of Lobetti Road on the north side of Schaad Road that disconnected the two sections.
2. Addressing staff mailed informational letters to all impacted property owners notifying them of the name change (Exhibit B). The letters provided an opportunity for impacted residents to vote on two provided street names, 'Hines Gap Lane' and 'Higher Hollows Lane', or to suggest a new name. The majority of residents voted for Lobetti Ridge Lane, which was suggested by the residents.
3. The proposed street name change will require 13 addresses to be reassigned.
4. The name change meets all requirements of the Knox County Codes of Ordinances (Chapter 54, Article II, Section 54-40).
