Level I: Signs- Signage package for "Maker Exchange" space associated with Marriott and Tennessean hotels and the Worlds Fair Exhibition Hall. Package includes three signs.
- Sign 1 is located at the Clinch Avenue entrance, to the right of the entrance to the Tennessean Hotel. Sign measures 18'-4.75" long by 1' tall and includes internally lit, individually hung letters. The letters feature layered metal with internally-woven neon illumination, with matte black backing and brass finish.
- Sign 2 is located on the Henley Street entrance (significantly recessed from the street). The sign measures 18'-4.75" long by 1' tall and includes internally lit, individually hung letters. The letters feature layered metal with internally-woven neon illumination, with matte black backing and brass finish.
- Sign 3 is located on the Worlds Fair entrance, fronting Worlds Fair Park. The sign will be located above the second-story windows and measures 55'-1" long and 3' tall, with internally lit, individually hung letters. Similar to the other two signs, the letters feature layered metal with internally-woven neon illumination, with matte black backing and brass finish.
- Removal of the Tennesseean hotel sign and relocation to decorative marble wall.
Property Notes / Work to be Completed
- The buildings to receive the signs are not subject to the Historic Resources section of the guidelines. The three proposed signs meet the design guidelines as wall signs mounted flush on the building façade. The signs are appropriately scaled to the larger-sized building, with placement on the relevant entrances and positioned to be visible from the pedestrian level. The letters' illumination is limited to internal weaves of neon within the letters. As proposed, the signs will compliment both nearby hotel buildings and the existing Worlds Fair Exhibition Hall complex.
