APPROVE Certificate No. 90706ONKD. Proposed demolition of second story addition will return house to original form, as contemplated by the adopted design guidelines. Work is consistent with pg. 17, C1, Old North Knoxville Design Guidelines.Applicant Request
- Remove the second floor addition back to the original east-facing outside walls. Encased below is the original recessed side porch, with half-light wood doors entering on the north wall from the front hallway of the main house and from the south wall from the back apartment. The original shake roof is still in place, but has been damaged from the earlier additions above it. The roof and floor structure will be restored or replaced. The balustrade will match the front porch with a duplication of the original spindles. Add a stair down to the side yard, extending east to a landing and then turn back towards the south to conceal the air-conditioning unit on the side of the house.
