Miles Biggs / City of Knoxville
Miles was raised in Knoxville and works for Copia Power as Director, Digital Infrastructure, where he leads development of datacenter projects and associated power infrastructure.
Prior to this role, Miles worked in the Tennessee Valley Authority's Innovation & Research group where he led innovation partnerships with regional startup accelerators, universities, and other innovation partners. Prior to joining TVA, Miles spent six years in energy infrastructure development, managing the siting, permitting, and pre-construction engineering for utility scale solar, battery, and data center projects across the country. Miles' early career experience includes work in smart city design, coworking development, and management consulting. Miles holds an M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University. As a planning commissioner, his goals are to support smart and sustainable development through the application of appropriate land use and planning standards to meet Knoxville's and Knox County's needs as a growing community, Miles lives in west Knoxville with his wife, two young boys, and a high maintenance Australian Shepherd.
