Level 1: Minor alteration of an existing building/structure

This is a revision to the previously approved COA 12-A-13-DT for the JCPenney Building and is for the 414 S Gay Street storefront only.

The configuration and design of the storefront will not change as it has already been permitted and constructed. The proposal is to install metal louvers on the left and right sides of the storefront (in the recesses) within the panels of the bulkhead (see the attachments). The louvers will be painted to match the storefront trim.

On the inside of the storefront, a wood seat will be created to conceal ductwork. The height of the seat will be lower than the sill of the storefront window.
