Staff Recommendation
APPROVE the amendments as submitted.
The Planning Commission staff has prepared the attached amendments to the Knoxville-Knox County Minimum Subdivision Regulations which are primarily non-substantive changes. These changes include but are not limited to: name changes (including name changes for City and County Engineering Divisions); corrections to section references; minor definition changes; elimination of references to provisions or requirements that no longer apply (digital media, one lot subdivisions, composite design plans); revisions to certification stamps; bringing the provisions for the major road plan and addressing ordinance into conformance with those documents; and identifying the required certification stamps for exempt plats. A provision is included in these amendments that will allow the Secretary of the Planning Commission to make specific housekeeping changes to the regulations without having to bring the amendments before the Planning Commission. Changes are also proposed to the requirements for street grades at intersections and corner radii in commercial and industrial districts, allowing the City and County Engineering Divisions to approve a waiver to those standards.
