The name changes were also discussed at public meetings held by the South Waterfront Development Office. Information about the name changes and the online poll were also published in a South Waterfront flier that was circulated to area residents. The City of Knoxville's Public Property Naming Committee recommended approval of the name at its September 12, 2009 meeting.
